Golden oldies strut their stuff

Seniors at the Douglas Murray Home for the Aged in Retreat pulled out all the stops when they participated in the home’s annual fashion show.

The event was part of the Older Persons Month Programme, which is celebrated in October, to spread awareness and promote human rights pertaining to the elderly. Residents dressed up in their finest and walked the red carpet to cheers from staff, family and friends. James Peters and Lydia van Rensburg were crowned king and queen of the red carpet. Reporter LILLIAN AMOS captured the fun.

* Master of Ceremonies Pastor Mark Killian, at the back, with Brenda Henry who was first princess, Lydia van Rensburg who was crowned queen, James Peters who was crowned king and Bonita Japhta who was crowned second princess.
