Disabled People South Africa (DPSA) held a memorial service and disability awareness, on Thursday March 7, for Kamryn Naidoo, 23, who was killed in Pelican Park.
Naidoo, 23, who was diagnosed with autism, was last seen alive near his home in Dove Road and was reported missing on Thursday February 29.
His body was found on Saturday March 2 by family and residents who had searched for him.
His hands and feet were bound and his body was riddled with stab wounds (“Popular Pelican Park man found dead in bushes”, Southern Mail, March 6).
Cheryl Halford, executive council member of DPSA said: “This brutal killing of an innocent man was a shock to us as a Pelican Park community. We, as persons with disabilities, have to stand up for our rights.”
