Cape Town Opera (CTO) will perform at the Sun-Set@Baxter concert in the garden on Sunday March 27, at 6pm.
They will present a tribute to the world’s most iconic opera choruses, including the Humming, Anvil, Slave and Bridal choruses as well as O Fortuna by Carl Orff and Ode to Joy from Beethoven’s 9th Symphony.
The programme also includes Verdi’s Va Pensiero (Nabucco) and Brindisi (La Traviata), Leoncavallo’s Bell Chorus (Pagliacci), Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus and He Trusted In God (from Messiah) and Donizetti’s Ultima Scena (Maria Stuarda).
Audiences can take their picnic baskets, chairs and blankets but only alcohol purchased from The Baxter’s bar will be permitted. Doors open at 5pm.
