Retreat resident Dale Hendricks has launched his second book.
Mr Hendricks, director of non-profit organisation Restoring Hope Association, says he shares valuable tools for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth in The Daley Bread Motivational Journal Vol 2, which he self published.
He says he was inspired by his experiences growing up in Cafda Village.
“(Through) my work as a community worker and entrepreneur, I created this journal to help myself and others navigate life’s challenges with resilience and positivity.”
He said the journal is more than just a collection of uplifting quotes and affirmations.
“It’s a lifeline for anyone seeking mental wellness and personal empowerment. Filled with my favourite quotes, writings and self-development activities, it’s designed to inspire and uplift you every day. Whether you’re dealing with stress, seeking motivation, or looking to connect with your inner self, this journal provides the guidance, inspiration, and support you need,” says Mr Hendricks.
Readers can use the book as a daily guide. “Start each day with a positive mindset and use this journal as a space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and aspirations. Let it be a companion on your journey to becoming the best version of yourself,” says Mr Hendricks.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Mr Hendricks wrote his first book The Daley Bread Motivational Journal Vol 1.
“I created Volume 1 of my affirmation journal to help others find hope, resilience, and positivity during a difficult time. This journal was also a personal dedication to my late grandmother, whose strength and love inspired me. Her favourite colour, pink, was used to symbolise warmth and healing, making the journal a meaningful tribute to her legacy.”
Mr Hendricks says his aim is for the journal to reach a wide audience, including schools, colleges, varsities, wellness establishments, bookstores, companies and youth development programmes.
“If anyone is keen on making this book part of their curriculum or programme, please do not hesitate to contact me.”
The book sells for R250 each. If you are interested in buying a copy or for more information, WhatsApp 078 0089 331 or email daleybreadjournal@gmail.com or find Mr Hendricks on social media: Facebook: Daley Bread Journals Instagram: @daleybread_journals, or X: @JournalsDaley
