The Steenberg Community Police Forum (CPF) has started a new initiative to acknowledge police officers from the Steenberg police precinct who have gone above and beyond their call of duty. The Rewards and Recognition project aims to motivate the officers as they are easily berated for bad service but not praised for good work. The first recipients of the award were Constable Carl Schreiner and Sergeant Peter Clayton. The officers were chosen by the station management and the CPF, and also acknowledged by their peers. They also received a written compliment from a resident. Steenberg SAPS management and the Steenberg CPF congratulated both officers.
