Steenberg police officer Constable Lukmaan Adams has started a marching project in the area and on the day those involved did a presentation to try and recruit more children.
The station also invited a marching squad from Delft to attend.
Vincent Daniels, the President of Sports Against Crime South Africa; Colonel Jan Alexander, the Steenberg police station commander; and Gavin Walbrugh, chairperson of the Steenberg Community Police Forum (CFP) attended the event and encouraged the children not to engage in illegal activities such as gangsterism and drug abuse.
The purpose of drilling, marching in unison, is to develop a sense of obedience and discipline.
