A daily motivational post on Facebook and Instagram has evolved into a life-changing motivational journal..
Dale Hendricks, a Retreat resident who graduated from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) with a degree in Sports Management Science in 2011, has authored and published his first book – an affirmation journal called Daley Bread – Something to get you through the day.
The 30-year-old, who is the co-founder of Restoring Hope, a registered non-profit organisation focused on community empowerment, says all he has done is encourage people to feel that they can get through the day. And it is this that was the inspiration for the journal.
“I wanted to do something people would always be able to rely on and know there’s hope in the day.
“We lost a lot to the coronavirus, including our sanity, and many of us who are self-employed knew that our businesses could be threatened with the pandemic. As a result, I recognised the importance of positive upliftment”, he said.
While most of the affirmations were written by him, some make reference to his favourite quotes.
