Bonteheuwel Cricket Club beat the University of Cape Town by six wickets on Saturday, November 9.
Bonteheuwel bowled first in a Western Province Cricket Association’s First Division B one-day league match. They limited UCT to 90 all-out in 27.1 overs.
Jason Mobile had a good day out in the office, picking up four wickets for 21 runs, alongside his teammates, Allistair Stone (3/21 runs) and Yaseen Solomons (1/11 runs), at the Bonteheuwel sports ground.
Captain Craig Barros said good bowling and fielding helped Bontas to edge off the win against the students. They scored 92/4 in 29.5 overs, thanks to a good batting innings by Solomons (36 not-out) to win the match.
“The team did well. We did not know what to expect from them since they have a good side coming from the First Division A. We bowled well and did very well in the match,” said Barros.
Bonteheuwel will play their next match against Somerset West, at home, on Saturday November 16.
