Primrose beat Avendale by 34 runs at Clover Crescent on Saturday to move to fifth spot on the log with 14 points from five games.
Having lost several key players, Primrose is finding life in the Western Province First Division A rather challenging but having clinched a third win of the season things are looking much brighter.
Having won the toss and electing to bat, Primrose amassed 166 runs with openers Aadam Tomlinson (42) and Rory O’Brien (33) notching up a partnership 59 to lay the foundation for what turned out to be a match-winning target.
While Tomlinson was patient O’Brien dug into the home side’s bowlers and took just 39 deliveries before he was dismissed by Reece Engelbrecht.
Aqeel Burns also contributed a valuable 30 runs off 51 deliveries.
The visitors dismissed the home side for 132 in 42.2 overs thanks to some excellent bowling by Ismaeel Galant 2/25, Ihsan Khan 2/26 and Daiyaan Davids 2/27.
Meanwhile, log leaders Tygerberg suffered a setback when they went down to Northerns Goodwood by 10 runs after they were bowled out for 144 in 48.2 overs.
The visitors were bowled out for 154 after Reeve Cyster (26) and Egan Van Aswegen (34) steadied the innings with valuable contributions.
In the Premier League, Bellville entrenched their top spot with an emphatic seven wicket win over Kraaifontein after dismissing the home side for 144.
While Bellville lost openers Andru Serdyn (0) and Liam Vermeulen (10) cheaply, Courtney Adams (70) and Philip Kleynhans (52) produced a third wicket partnership of 100 runs to set the side on the way to their fifth win after six games.
Durbanville, meanwhile, will represent the Western Cape in the national T20 Community Cup after they won both their games at the provincial finals at the weekend.
On Saturday they beat Paarl by 94 runs with opener Fritz de Beer scoring 103 off just 52 deliveries.
On Sunday they went on to scalp Pacaltsdorp, the South Western Districts champions by seven wickets. Needing 114 to win, the home side took just 14.4 overs to become the Western Cape champions.
