Cape Town Opera (CTO) will present Opera On The Go, a free one-hour concert in the Chandelier Foyer at the Artscape theatre in the Cape Town city centre on Tuesday April 15, at 1pm.

Opera and music lovers can look forward to a repertoire featuring, among others, highlights from upcoming productions at Artscape, Theatre on the Bay, and the Toringkerk in Paarl.

Audiences will be treated to excerpts from Verdi’s Aida, Fauré’s Requiem, and Rossini’s The Barber of Seville. The concert will showcase outstanding sopranos as well as the renowned Cape Town Opera Chorus performing choral selections from Aida and Requiem, the latter of which will be presented in full at the Paarl Toringkerk on Saturday April 19.

Also taking the stage at Opera On The Go will be CTO Judith Neilson Young Artists, including Sisikelelwe Mngenela and Mongezi Mosoaka. The singers will be accompanied by CTO vocal coach Jan Hugo on piano.

Cape Town Opera’s lunchtime concert is free and open to the public.
