Perfect Fifth SA celebrate Cape Town’s diversity with their latest album, says the five-member band’s founder, Alex van As, of Steenberg.
The Collab Album sees the group blend a range of genres including jazz, hip hop, R&B, electronic, Afro-pop, and soul, says Van As.
“Our latest venture explores new sonic landscapes through collaborative efforts with 10 dynamic artists from diverse musical genres and aims to break barriers and foster a spirit of inclusion by bringing together unique styles and voices.
“We wanted to create something that reflects the essence of Cape Town’s diversity. Each artist we collaborated with brought a different style and energy, which makes this album not just a musical project but a celebration of unity.”
Some of the artists featured on the album will perform at Youngblood Gallery, in Bree Street, Cape Town, on Friday November 29, from 6pm to 10pm. Tickets are R100 (early bird), R150 (online) and R200 at the door. The album will be launched after this event.
