As the trend grows, so is the popularity and Sigourney Bruintjies, marketing manager at the Radisson Blu in Gqeberha, inspired by the hotel’s oceanside setting, has come up with “Cruz and Paint” to align with the upcoming South African cruise season.
“Our artists have cocktails instead of wine, either in traditional or slushy form, the type you will get on a holiday cruise and get to nibble from the hotel’s canapé food station throughout the afternoon. It’s all about unleashing your creativity, enjoying our cocktails and taking in the ocean view”.
Beyond the social element, Sip and Paint events are a reminder that creativity is for everyone, not just artists and many people leave the sessions surprised at their own ability to produce something they’re proud of.
