The international price of coffee beans surged by 80% in 2024, reaching record highs in September.

South African coffee drinkers are now paying around 47% more for a jar of instant coffee than they did a year ago.

Brazil, the world’s largest coffee producer, is facing price increases due to heavy rainfall, which will likely affect the country’s 2024/25 supply. 

Vietnam, the second-largest coffee producer, is also experiencing supply difficulties due to poor harvests in recent years. The country's agriculture department projected a 20% drop in production this year, the lowest in four years.
