Arctic trucks of Iceland has been taking Toyota 4x4s to terrain-conquering extremes since 1990, and its latest creation aims to take the latest Land Cruiser Prado to the next level of 4x4 glory.
The Prado AT37 is a lot more than just an SUV with some ‘vet tekkies’ slapped on.
Arctic’s engineers carried out significant modifications to the Prado’s frame, bodywork and suspension to achieve the best balance between ground clearance and low centre of gravity.

In the process they also extended the wheelbase, pushing the rear axle further back, while the wider track and all-terrain tyres are accommodated by flared fenders and contoured AT mud guards.
Filling those arches are unique heritage-inspired forged alloys, which can be fitted with either BFGoodrich’s new All-Terrain T/A KO3 or Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tyres.
The AT37 is also fitted with a bespoke, two-way adjustable performance suspension system, which provides an additional 40mm worth of lift and increased travel.

Developed in conjunction with a company called R53 Suspension, whose products are well proven on the Dakar Rally stage, the suspension set-up includes large diameter monotube shocks as well as high tensile hard chrome steel shafts and matched springs with hydraulic bump stops.
The engine doesn't receive any power gains, but Arctic says it has recalibrated the drivetrain to cope with the aforementioned modifications.
For easy accessorising, the vehicle is fitted with a 5cm multifunction receiver hitch, which facilitates the attachment of tow balls, winches, gear carriers and even braai stands.
The cabin of the Prado AT37 is accessed via extended profile side steps, and inside you'll find a unique gear selector and dashboard trims as well as AT-branded sill plates and interior mats.
The Arctic Trucks Prado AT37 will go on sale in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America, starting from the second quarter of 2025. South African availability and pricing has yet to be confirmed.
