Gymnasts bring home the medals

Gymnasts of Wasabi Sports Club, based in Zeekoevlei Primary School hall, brought home the medals after competing at the Western Cape Gym for All Challenge, which took place on Sunday August 21.

Coach Nazema Diedericks said 11 seniors and eight juniors competed at the Cape Town District Gym for All Challenge on July 30. The juniors were awarded bronze and the seniors silver.

They then qualified for the Western Cape Gym for All Challenge, which took place on Sunday August 21, where the juniors were awarded silver and the seniors gold. Both teams qualified for the South African Gym Games that will be taking place in Gauteng on October 4.

Coach Salaamah Davids, the acro and aerobics coach, said there were seven in aerobics and 10 in acro who qualified to go to the SA Gym Games. “We are super proud of them, ” said Ms Davids.
