Plumstead swimmer and sensei Kim Prytz collaborated with Samurai School of Karate Claremont and Herbalife to handover 551 blankets to Capricorn Primary School pupils on Thursday September 8.

Ms Prytz raised funds for charity by swimming breaststroke from Blouberg to Robben Island and back, becoming the first person in the world to do so.

She completed the swim in 10hr26min39sec, on Tuesday June 7.

Ms Prytz, who teaches extra mural karate lessons to the Capricorn Primary pupils, said her intention was to raise funds to buy blankets for the children.

A year before her latest feat, Ms Prytz became the first person to swim breaststroke from Robben Island to Melkbosstrand.

Having special ties with Capricorn Primary School Ms Prytz said she will always want to work with Capricorn if she does a swim. “Then of course my karate is dear to my heart and I would never have been able to accomplish these swims without the incredible confidence building. Never give up, training, so, I will definitely do it again.”
