The Pelican Park Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association held their annual general meeting at Pelican Park Primary School, on Saturday October 22.
Tammy Daniel, public relations officer, said guest speaker Felicity Purchase, speaker for the City of Cape Town, addressed the meeting and shed some light on the critical role of civic and ratepayers' associations, in relation to council and service delivery.
Ms Daniel said Colonel Dawood Laing, station commander of Grassy Park police station, spoke about safety and security.
Shamsodien Ahmed, deputy chairperson, thanked the PPRRA members: “The present small core group of exco members have put in immense effort, time, and sacrifice to attend meetings, workshops for many years despite having full time jobs and family commitments. All done voluntarily with passion and loyalty for safety, upkeep and service delivery for the benefit of the ratepayers and tenants in Pelican and Peacock Close.
