Team Engen dropped off blankets and other items.
It will certainly be a good Christmas for residents at a Lavender Hill old age home after the completion of a revamp their earlier this month.
An outpouring of support and love has been shown for the seniors by various organisations and companies after an appeal was sent out to help the struggling Aged Valley Home.
San Giorgio, an automation analyst at Engen, rallied 30 fellow employees and applied for support for the care facility from the company.
Funds were used for urgent repairs, including upgrading the roof and ceilings, refurbishing the ablution facilities and other general maintenance, including interior and exterior paint work at the 13-room home, which hosts 19 senior citizens ranging in age from 65 to 99.
At the official handover of the upgraded facilities on Friday December 1, the team delivered care packs and enjoyed a morning of celebration with the residents.
The home’s management thanked the Engen employees for their contributions and choosing Aged Valley home. Director Berenice Blaauw said the upgrades and help will greatly help improve the lives of residents and make their stay a lot more comfortable.
