18:T627,AN ORDINARY traffic stop in Kimberley turned into a major police success this week when Roodepan police officers uncovered a cache of illegal alcohol worth more than R90,000 in a delivery vehicle According to SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Merapelo Pilane, the bust took place during a routine vehicle checkpoint in Eagle Street on March 20, where officers from Roodepan Shift C flagged down a delivery truck. Upon inspection, they discovered dozens of boxes containing unlabelled bottles of whiskey, gin, vodka and brandy. The contents were examined by the Northern Cape provincial Firearms, Liquor and Second-hand Goods (FLASH) unit, who confirmed the alcohol was illicit.
