Nicole Jacobus, chairperson, Grassy Park community police forum:
The Grassy Park Community Police Forum held its monthly public meeting at the Pelican Park Hall in Pelican Park, on Tuesday July 8.
Over the past six months, our community has faced significant challenges due to ongoing gang violence. Despite these hardships, I would like to commend our dedicated police officers for their tireless efforts and ongoing commitment to ensuring our safety.
A heartfelt thank you also goes out to our neighborhood watches, who continue to patrol and play a vital role in keeping our streets safer. Your contributions are deeply appreciated.
We continue to urge all community members to report crime and send in tip-offs. Your information can help save lives and improve safety for everyone.
Here are a few important safety reminders:
Always walk in groups, especially when travelling to work or school.
Do not leave valuable items visible in your vehicle
If you witness any illegal activity or have information, report it anonymously to Colonel Andre Van Wyk or Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or email me at Grassyparkcpf@gmail.com
Together, we can build a safer and more united community.
The next public meeting will be at the Grassy Park Civic Centre, on Tuesday, August 12.
