Newborn found dead in Parkwood

A baby's dead body was found in Parkwood.

Grassy Park police responded to a call about a baby lying in a field between Walmer Road and the M5, in Parkwood, on Monday, September 29, at around 7.20am.

Sergeant Alridge Isaacs, spokesperson for Grassy Park police, said: "Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a newborn male infant, with the umbilical cord still attached. Sadly, the baby was declared deceased at the scene.”

An inquest docket has been registered at Grassy Park police for further investigation.
