Mass iftar at Fairmount High School.

The Girls’ Feeding Scheme (GFS) and resident Shireen Ishmail had their annual mass iftar at Fairmount High School, in Grassy Park, on Saturday April 15.

Last year the team had the event at Peter Charles Street, in Cafda.

Nabeelah Valcarcel, spokesperson of GFS, said this year Blue Ribbon came aboard with additional partners Shamiela Dramat and Fatima Daniels.

Ms Valcarcel said: "The team and Miss Allie (deputy principal at the school) got the youth involved in an initiative that was well executed. Blue Ribbon, GFS and partners were overwhelmed at the turnout this year."

Volunteers and sponsors who offered a mass iftar for children.

The school hall seated just over 700 children and seniors and the fields just over 400 people from surrounding areas.

“We thank the following organisations for their support: Carers Unite, All our Affairs, Shumeez Scott Foundation, Upcountry Feeding Hands, Classic Butchery and all other sponsors for their support,” said Ms Valcarcel.
