Steenberg cop praised for putting killer behind bars

The investigating officer in a 2018 Cafda murder case has been praised by the provincial police commissioner after the man convicted for his part in the crime was sentenced to 18 years behind bars.

The provincial police commissioner has praised a Steenberg policeman for helping to secure an 18-year jail sentence for a man convicted for his involvement in a 2018 Cafda murder.

Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile lauded Investigating officer Sergeant Hlaoli Mmola who took the stand at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court in the case of Damin Hendricks, 32, who was convicted of murder, following his involvement in the shooting of a man on a Cafda street corner in June of 2018.

Hendricks was sentenced on Wednesday February 23.
