Wordworks back at Levana

Parents and guardians graduated from the eight-week Wordworks programme last week.

After a two-year break, parents and teachers at Levana Primary School in Lavender Hill were excited to take part in the Wordworks programme again.

On Tuesday August 23, 12 parents graduated from the eight-week programme which was aimed at helping their children with literacy, maths and life skills at home. The programme also equips parents and guardians to build relationships and connect with their children to foster a love for learning at home and to make the activities fun.

Levana Primary School teachers undergo training to teach parents and caregivers how to do maths and literacy at home.

The programme is ongoing and more parents are welcome and encouraged to join.

Wordworks is a non-profit organisation that focuses on early language and literacy development in the first eight years of children’s lives. They equip and train teachers to work with parents and caregivers to provide support to pupils and make learning a fun activity.
