After an horrific start and the worst in our history as Manchester United Football Club, very few had confidence, especially as we had to go to the home of the English Premier League champions.
New manager Ruben Amorim already caused a major shake-up in the dressing room, leaving two of the stars completely out the squad. Adding to our fears of a another hammering and embarrassment.
But did we forget something here? Manchester City were planning on getting Ruben to replace Pep Guardiola and there has to be a valid reason for that.
He has already defeated Pep twice in a short period of time with two different teams and his style of play is proving to be exciting and also considered the “next level” of football.
Amorim expects his team to leave it all out there from the start, playing a very attacking style of football, with the fullbacks high up the pitch, adding constant pressure.
Problem at United is that we do not have the squad to play this system and forcing it does’t help either — so the board needs to sit up and realise this very quickly.
Already players have started looking at themselves and asking questions, with Marcus Rashford being the first notable high profile player about to exit the club.
It wasn’t too long ago that Marcus had his whole family involved in a photo shoot, announcing a new five year deal at the club and calling Manchester United his home.
That was probably the worst mistake he could have made as a player and for the clubl.
Marcus never recovered from it and two years later, he finds himself on the “for sale” list at the club, with talks of a “new chapter” in full swing.
He failed quite honestly, but he failed on the pitch and succeeded off it by becoming one of Britain’s highest paid footballers — nevermind our beautiful club being in shambles — we paid his bills.
He thanked us by scoring less than 10 goals per season from thereon in — thanks and goodbye Marcus — hopefully Wimbledon FC signs you!
What’s up with the dreamlanders (Liverpool), are we not going to discuss their little slip-up on form. Does nobody notice their squad getting thinner and thinner — with a hard reliance on an aging Mohammed Salah?

Nearly all the games they have had was not convincing and had it not been for the poor form of the teams around them, Liverpool would not have been on top.
This is an old Liverpool team that is running on sparks from the season before and just getting by.
But, they can enjoy that temporary feeling as we know how patient they can be — I mean, they waited nearly 30 years for their team to win their very first Premier League — most of their supporters growing up having never seen their team win it.
Some of their supporters sadly passed away and still, Steven Gerrard has not won the Premier League.
Back to business this week, the Ruben Amorim era continues to build and we know silently, our opponents know what’s coming because our manager oozes the confidence and is prepared to fix this great club.
