The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra's youth academy and ensembles will perform in Grassy Park and in Gardens next weekend

The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra's youth academy and ensembles, based at Gardens Commercial High School, will host community concerts in the city centre and Grassy Park next weekend as part of its mission to be an orchestra for all.

On Saturday June 7, Masidlale, along with the Cape Town Philharmonic Music Academy youth ensembles, will perform will perform at Gardens Commercial High School at 2pm. Tickets for this fundraising concert are R30 or R10 at the door, and proceeds will go to secure transport and branded t-shirts for the group.

On Sunday June 8, the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, conducted by Liam Burdern, and the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensemble, conducted by Charlene Verster, will perform at Gardens Commercial High School at 2pm. Tickets for this fundraising concert are R50 or R20 at the door and proceeds will go to secure transport and branded t-shirts. 

Also on Sunday, at 4pm, Mr Burdern and the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra will give free concerts of pops and light classics in the Grassy Park Civic Centre with community groups and works such as a suite from District Six, Jerusalema and the Lion King Medley.
