The Trinity Methodist Church Heathfield soup kitchen hosted a Christmas party for the less fortunate from Retreat, Steenberg, Vrygrond, Lavender Hill and Capricorn Park, on Tuesday November 26. Carol Carelse, the soup kitchen coordinator, said adults were given a food bucket and a take-away meal and the children a meal, a party pack and a toy. “We have been feeding soup, bread, rolls and sandwiches to between 100 and 130 adults and children every Tuesday for 17 years.
