Allister Williams, 17, gives new meaning to the word humble.
Known in his community for his respectful and disciplined nature, he was celebrated by family and neighbours at his pre-matric ball party on Wednesday, July 2, in the Lavender Hill flats.
Allister has earned admiration from both his school and the wider Lavender Hill community, according to Clive Jacobs, a community leader, who knows the “polite and friendly” Lavender Hill High pupil.
“Allister is bringing light, pride, and hope to his community," he said.
The pre-matric celebration took place in the local courts, where friends, family, and neighbours gathered to cheer him on.

“His photo session was thoughtfully arranged with the permission of his proud parents, Brian and Louise Williams. They expressed how proud they were of their son," said Mr Jacobs, adding that the community truly came together for his send-off, with neighbours offering their full support.
"With their blessing, we even set up a red carpet parade to make the occasion unforgettable, before they left for the matric ball, which was held at Suiker Bossie in Hout Bay,” said Mr Jacobs.
