The Uniting Reformed Church in Retreat recently wrapped up a successful donation drive of toiletries and clothing for mothers and children at The Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital, on Sunday, July 20.

Organised by the church’s women’s ministry under the leadership of Denise de Koker, the project is part of the church’s annual Red Cross Shoe Box Initiative. This year, the church chose to donate toiletries and clothing separately for mothers and children.

Bronwin Dreyer, the church’s spokesperson, said: “Donations for children ranged from ages 3 to 12. We also gathered items to assemble care packages for mothers who spend long periods with their children at the hospital.”

The initiative highlights the church’s ongoing commitment to supporting the community and providing comfort to families in need.
