A poem of hope for Ottery

Letter to the Editor|Published

Ottery has been gripped by a gang war.

Cole Bester, Ottery

The sound of the rain drops, so much better than that of gunshots

The echo in our head hearing all the screams ‘he’s dead’

So far to date, many lives were taken

Which left us all afraid and shaken

It starts with us to raise our voices instead of being afraid and making wrong choices

We plead with you Father to heal our land, at times it's so difficult but we'll hold onto your hand

For those who fall weak, please make them be strong, together we can end this fights because killing is wrong

Our Father in heaven your children are dying

Please end this gang violence and spare our parents from crying
