The Grand Moulood 1446, an event honouring the Prophet Muhammad, kicked off with a march in 11th Avenue, Eagle Park.

The Cape Town Islamic Educational Centre (CTIEC) hosted an inspirational event, The Grand Moulood 1446, on Sunday, in honour of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), drawing over a thousand devotees from across the city and beyond.
The event kicked off with a "Juloos" march to celebrate the occasion, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and Naat presentations by local reciters, including students of CTIEC.
Special reciter Imam Sayed Haseen Ud Deen Ziyaee wowed the audience with his melodious voice. Various ulama (special guests) delivered speeches, with a keynote address from Mufti Sayed Haroon Al Azhari, the head of the Cape Town Ulama Board.
The venue was beautifully decorated and divided to accommodate separate seating for males and females. The event was impeccably organised by CTIEC, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere for all attendees. Principal Moulana Sayed Imraan Shah Ziyaee praised the attendees for their devotion, even in the face of the heat, stating that Cape Town is a city of lovers of the Holy Prophet.
Numerous local imams and shaykhs represented their organisations at the event, participating in recitals and speeches. The day concluded with a lunch served to all guests, fostering a sense of unity and community among attendees.
The Grand Moulood delivered a powerful message of love and peace in a world often plagued by division and conflict. Attendees left feeling inspired and uplifted, ready to spread the message of unity and harmony in their communities.
