Organisers of the annual under-19 Bayhill Premier Cup (BPC) are hopeful that ticket sales will exceed last year’s when more that 12 000 fans attended the finals at Athlone Stadium.

Clubs and organisations looking to raise funds are encouraged to buy in bulk, says tournament director Rayaan Allie.

“I am sure that the BPC crowd will come out in their numbers to support the boys at the finals. We have been planning this event for several months, and our main aim in conjunction with our partners and stakeholders is to deliver a safe and incident free event.”

In an effort to boost sales and to help clubs and organisations raise a bit of funds, BPC organisers are offering discounts for tickets bought in bulk, at R30 each for a batch of 100 or more. Picture: Fuad Esack

Allie said he was pleased with the steady purchasing of tickets for the finals on the online ticket platform Webtickets as well as Pick n Pay and Boxer stores.

“One is always worried about attendance as this ultimately plays a huge part in covering the expenses which comes with hosting an event of this magnitude. It’s a huge and daunting responsibility.

“We already know that the best football Cape Town and South Africa has to offer will be on display at the tournament, so the football kind of sorts itself out,” he said.

“This year, we will use the same model as 2023, with R50 entry at Athlone Stadium per seat, and at Erica Park, R30 per adult and R20 per child under 13 years, with the exclusion of Friday (opening day) which will be R50 and R30 respectively,” said Allie.

R50 gets you through the gates at Athlone Stadium on Monday April 1 for this year’s Premier Cup final. At Erica Park, in Belhar, it’s R30 for adults and R20 for children under 13 years, except on Friday March 29 when it will be R50 and R30 respectively. Visit webtickets.co.za Picture: Fuad Esack

“Our opening day has become a tradition in Cape Town, and the BPC faithful can ready themselves for another awesome fireworks display and the traditional march parade by the 32 participating teams,“ he said.
