EFC bantamweight champion Faeez “Troublemaker” Jacobs brought a message of self-belief to inspire youngsters to fight for their dreams, in and out of the ring, at last week’s opening of a state of the art boxing/kickboxing gym at Cascade Primary School, in Eastridge.
The state-of-the art gym, complete with punching bags and other necessities one might expect to find, is the latest addition to the range of sporting programmes offered by Run4Schools.
A long-standing dream of founder, Leslie Pangemanan, along with the Netherlands-based Foundation that oversees the programme and the coaches involved at the various schools where the organisation is based, finally came to fruition with a grand opening ceremony with Jacobs, who grew up in Mitchell’s Plain, as keynote speaker. Run4Schools programme managers, Justin Blake and Kay Cedras roped in the help of project manager Nasar Salie, who saw to all the technical aspects, related to the project.
