PFC Promotions made a spectacular return to the Cape Town martial arts scene in the second half of 2024, much to the excitement of fight fans and fighters alike.
This was a long-anticipated comeback, especially after a five-year break that had left a noticeable gap on the local fight scene.
The main reason for this hiatus was the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns, which affected nearly all sports events worldwide.
During this period, many in the fight scene would have felt the loss of PFC events, which had been one of the staples in the Cape Town martial arts community.
But when they made the grand comeback in August 2024, with an electrifying event showcasing both K1 and boxing, it was clear that the promotion was back and ready to reclaim its spot at the heart of Cape Town’s fight scene.
Angelo Addinall, co-founder of PFC Promotions, said they have even bigger plans in store for this year.
Their first show will be in March and, if all goes according to plan, there will be several more throughout the year. Cape Town’s finest and most promising martial artists will get more opportunities to make their mark in the sport.
“There’s a lot lined up, and it’s going to be an exciting year,” said Addinall.
He said their goal is to continue the legacy of introducing new champions and creating opportunities for local fighters to rise through the ranks.
Fighters like Terrence Balelo, Adrian Sanchez and Timothy Steenkamp, all of whom cut their teeth in PFC Promotions, have already made their names in the professional ranks.
