Pupils from two schools in Norway, Haugaland and Oddemarke, raised funds at their yearly Action South Africa day during which pupils from these two schools go out and perform tasks in their local community. The proceeds of the funds raised by these pupils are given to Wynberg Rotary Club to manage. The Norwegian Liaison Committee of Wynberg Rotary Club, under the leadership of president of Are Hovstad, ensured that seven schools in the Grassy Park and Lotus River area received funds. The schools then identify bursary recipients. The schools use the bursaries for pupils’ school fees, school uniforms and stationery.
