Grassy Park High’s top achievers acknowledged

Pupils, staff and a few guests attended the valedictory and awards event of Grassy Park High School, held in Fairmount High Schools hall, on Thursday October 21.

Grade 12 teacher Wendi Abrahams said: “This was not only a valedictory but an awards event where pupils have been validated with excellence in sports, cultural and social community involvement.

“Some of the awards are, the social awards, including perseverance award, where the boy or girl who against all odds have faced all the curve balls that life has thrown at them and persevered through,” she said.

“There was a turnaround award where the pupil who started off always being in trouble turned around totally between Grade 11 and Grade 12 and now is producing good work.

“We have the Wendi Abrahams Entrepreneur award, and the Fazlin Solomons Cultural Awards for the pupil who performs culturally inside and outside the school, and more,” said Ms Abrahams.
