Wynberg and Plumstead high school pupils had the opportunity to engage with 40 exhibitors on career paths, further study options, and employment opportunities at a career exhibition at the Wynberg Civic Centre on Thursday, August 28.
Ward councillor Carmen Siebritz said: “The event was extremely successful, so much so that it's still trending on all social media platforms. The success of the first-ever career exhibition hosted in Ward 63 has led to planning for 2026 already being underway.”
The exhibition hosted 55 exhibitors. “To shake things up, we also showcased some local artists in the form of music. We featured Mujahid George, singer, actor, presenter, recording artist, and producer, Thanaah Voterson, the 12-year-old who recently returned to South Africa with a gold medal and three silver medals from the prestigious Mediterranean Legends singing competition in France and Spain.”
High school pupils are eager to explore the career paths available to them.

“A third artist, Anthea Mende, employed with the City of Cape Town's Public Participation Unit, also graced us with her rendition of Hero originally sung by Ms Mariah Carey,” said Ms Siebritz.
Ward 63 will host its second Grade 12 school career exhibition in March 2026, said Ms Siebritz.
