Survé Philanthropies is humbled and inspired by the overwhelming response to the Dr IqbalSurvé Bursary for the 2025 academic year. With applications officially closed, the organisation is proud to announce that an incredible 1,600 applications were received, a testament to the determination and ambition of South Africa’s youth.

Dr Iqbal Survé and the Survé Family extend their gratitude to every applicant for taking the bold step toward pursuing their dreams. The Survé Philanthropies team is now embarking on the careful and deliberate process of reviewing each application.

This process involves evaluating academic achievements, potential for growth, and alignment with the bursary’s vision of fostering excellence in health/medicine, education, and science. Selected candidates will be contacted in January 2025.

Dr Survé’s vision for this bursary has always been about more than financial aid. It is about unlocking potential and creating opportunities for individuals to rise above their circumstances and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation at large.

The bursary program is rooted in a belief that investing in youth is an investment in the future. Education is not only a pathway to personal success but also a catalyst for societal progress. As Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." This belief continues to guide Survé Philanthropies’ mission and the selection process for the bursary.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all 1,600 applicants for their interest in the Bursary. The organisation recognises the courage it takes to apply for such opportunities and commend seach candidate for their dedication to academic and personal growth. While not every applicant can be awarded a bursary, the organisation encourages all candidates to continue striving for excellence, knowing that their efforts will open doors to future possibilities.
